13 DAYS NAIROBI – SAMBURU, ABERDARE, LAKE NAKURU, MAASAI MARA, LAKE NAIVASHA & AMBOSELI, TSAVO WEST & TSAVO EAST SAFARI
Your tour begins at the Samburu National Reserve in the shadow of snow-capped Mt. Kenya. Here, in addition to experiencing the Samburu people and their culture, you’ll view special game such as Oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Plus, hundreds of elephant, leopard, cheetah and 450 species of birds.
You will then proceed to Aberdare National Park and stay in a tree hotel. This upcountry paradise features thick rain forests, moors and high waterfalls. Here you can spot buffalo, black rhinos, spotted hyena and sometimes the rare black leopard.
Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the few lakes where you’ll view extraordinary birdlife such as flamingos. This beautiful park also features the rare Rothschild’s giraffe.
Up next may be Kenya’s crown jewel – the Maasai Mara. Here is the greatest concentration and variety of wildlife to be found in the region. The Mara, with its stunning savannahs and acacia trees, is by itself an unforgettable journey. At the Mara River you’ll see scores of hippo and crocodile. During the great migration from July to October prepare to be overwhelmed at the sight of vast hordes of wildebeest.
Lake Naivasha and other area attractions offer many different safari activities. Take a boat safari to view hippo and the many exotic birds found here. A walking safari at nearby animal sanctuary will get you up close to the small game.
Unlimited game drives await you at stunning Amboseli National Park. With Mt. Kilimanjaro serving as your dramatic backdrop there will be plenty of time to view elephant, buffalo, hippo and other big game.
Tsavo West National Park is the perfect finale to your expansive tour of Kenya. Tsavo is scenic and wild, with remnants of recent volcanos. You’ll visit Mzima springs and view hippo, crocodile and abundant exotic fish.
Tsavo East National Park is so sprawling you’ll easily fall into its timeless rhythms where the wildlife suddenly appears as if to remind one of the eternal cycles of this land. You’ll be looking for great herds of elephants plus lion, buffalo, eland, impala, and giraffe.

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu
0630hrs: Pick-up from your hotel/residence.
Proceed via the central highlands of Kenya with views of coffee, tea, sisal, pineapple and subsistence farming activities. Local African homesteads dot the red soiled slopes of this region.
View the Mount Kenya with its snow-capped peaks along the safari route, weather permitting.
Arrive in time for lunch.
Afternoon game viewing drive in Samburu National Reserve or Shaba National Reserve or Buffalo Springs National Reserve.
Overnight at a camp/lodge.
Day 2: Full day in Samburu
The day shall be spent with game viewing drives / relaxing interludes at the game reserve.
Game viewing drives in this dry and scenic game reserve are concentrated along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River where most wildlife is found.
Overnight at your lodge/camp.
Day 3: Samburu to Aberdare
After breakfast, drive to Aberdare National park. On arrival, you will check in and have lunch at your base hotel.
After lunch transfer to your tree lodge. Overnight at your tree lodge with floodlit game viewing from the lodge viewing decks.
Day 4: Aberdare to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, we shall leave the Aberdare for Lake Nakuru National Park.
Arrive in time for lunch and later proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive.
Lake Nakuru National park is not only the home of wildlife like the endangered black rhino, the Rothschild’s giraffe, the waterbuck and predators like the lion and leopard, but is wild famous as the location where the pink flamingo vast numbers literally turned the Lake horizon pink. The numbers has in recent years declined due to climate change which led the lake to overflow.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
After breakfast, we depart Lake Nakuru for Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Later proceed for the afternoon game viewing drive.

Day 6: Full day in Maasai Mara
Spend the full day at the Maasai Mara game reserve with unlimited game viewing drives.
The reserve is an extension of the vast Serengeti plains and is known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home of the big five. You shall have your picnic lunch at the banks of the Mara River. Residents of the reserve are Maasai giraffe, buffalo, eland and thousands of plains game including impala, zebra, topi, Thompsons and grant gazelles
Optional activities.
– Visit to a local Maasai village for a Maasai cultural tour.
– Hot air balloon ride in the early morning.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 7: Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, check out and embark on your drive back to Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, take the optional activities to explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour.
Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here.
Alternatively, you can take the walking Safari at the animal sanctuary which is in an island.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli
An adventurous long drive to the Amboseli awaits you today. Depart Lake Naivasha after an early breakfast for the Amboseli. You shall arrive in time for lunch.
Take a midday rest and later venture into the park for the scheduled afternoon game viewing drive.
We shall be in search of elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, cheetah, warthog, ostrich and many others
The Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline and surrounding country side. It is the tallest in Africa and highest free Standing Mountain in the world.
Mount Kilimanjaro with its snow – capped peak shall dominate the background while we marvel at the wildlife and scenery (weather permitting).
Overnight at a lodge/camp.
Day 9: Full day Amboseli National Park
Spend the day at Amboseli with game viewing drives in the morning and afternoon.
Amboseli is renowned for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants as well as huge herds of wildebeests and other animals including giraffes, lions, monkeys, zebras and hyenas with Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain providing a beautiful back drop.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
Day 10: Amboseli to Tsavo West
After breakfast, check out and drive to Tsavo West National Park.
The Tsavo west is hilly and craggy with scenic terrain. You shall visit Mzima springs where you view hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, lesser Kudu, exotic fish at the springs and bird life.
Overnight shall be at a Lodge/Camp.
Day 11: Tsavo West to Tsavo East
After an early breakfast, check out with a brief game drive at Tsavo West and proceed to Tsavo East National Park to arrive in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon proceed for the scheduled game drive.
Tsavo East which is one of favourite parks in Kenya, and we love it most of all for its elephants (often caked in Tsavo’s red dust) and its wild lions: the male lions of Tsavo are famous for not having manes. Many visitors see cheetahs hunting out on the eastern plains of the park, and you might also see gerenuk, Somali ostrich and the very hard-to-find Hirola antelope. Almost 500 different species of bird have been seen in the park.
Overnight shall be at a Lodge/Camp.
Day 12: Tsavo East to Nairobi
After breakfast, check out and embark on your drive back to Nairobi to arrive in the afternoon.
Drop off at your Nairobi hotel/residence or airport for onward flight.
